The renovation project for this apartment in Barcelona aimed to transform a cramped and outdated space into a modern and functional living area while preserving its historic character.
The project began with the demolition of walls, false ceilings and the removal of outdated fixtures and finishes.
Open Space.
The demolition of the walls opened up the space, allowing for the creation of an open-plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and a cozy lounge space. The kitchen was completely redesigned to maximize storage and counter space while incorporating modern appliances and fixtures, giving the space a clean and contemporary look.
Exposed Roof.
After demolishing the false roof we discovered a beautiful wooden beam ceiling and decided to restore it and leave it exposed so as to have a height that varies between 3 and 5 meters inside the apartment. New hardwood flooring was installed throughout the space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
