The project is a comprehensive refurbishment of a XIXth century Barcelona’s “Ensanche” apartment that hadn’t had any major alterations during its 100 years of history. The ceilings, with their original moldings, were pretty well conserved as well as the original carpentry.
The project’s starting point has been preserving as much as possible the original layout.

Concept.
To meet the challenge, we carried out a complete renovation and interior decorating project that focused on exploring the fullest potential of each space and preserving all the original elements that had particular historical or contextual value: restoring ceilings, doors, windows and opening up spaces to connect different rooms.
Carpentry.
We have maintained and renovated all the carpentries, either in their original position or moving them to new spaces opened in the flat’s interior building, where a new open kitchen and a bigger bathroom are created, keeping the windows in their original position.
