High-quality renovation of an apartment in a quiet pedestrian street of Barcelona, Spain.
The original flat had many rooms and a long corridor, it was very dark and had a fragmented distribution.The project's goal was to prioritize the aspects of spaciousness and natural light, above others.
Concept.
The refurbishment proposes to increase the livability of the apartment on the one hand improving its technical aspects (systems) and on the other, freeing the central space of the entrance of its existing partitions, which determined very dark and small rooms.
Results.
It was decided to demolish the walls and the suspended ceiling of the entrance area, leaving a wide and unique space with views to the original slabs made with Catalonian vaults. All the walls are painted in warm white, seeking a higher level of natural light and inner homogeneity.
